Pawagiri Jain Tirth - Bh. Parshwanath

Shri 1008 Digamber Jain Siddha Kshetra Pawagiriji, Lalitpur, Uttar Pradesh. Is a Siddha Kshetra (The place of salvation), this area full of natural beauty, according to Nirvankand (A Text) is the place of salvation of Shri Swarnabhadra & three more ascetic saints. This place is near by Chelna River. At the top of hill an ancient building still exists. Here exists an underground cave built by Shri Deopat Kheopat about 750 years ago. It is supposed that Swarnabhadra, Gunbhadra & Veerbhadra accepted penance near Lord Chandraprabhu (8th Teerthankar) and attained salvation from Pawagiri near Chelna River. Here an idol of Principal Deity Lord Parsvanath is full of miracle. A Ghost named Bhure Baba safe guards the entire field and fulfills the desires of pilgrims. Underground Cave Temple is the main ancient temple of this area. It is about 750 years old. Here the idol of Principal Deity Lord Parsvanath, idols of Lord Adinath, Ajitnath, Sambhavnath, Neminath were installed in V. S. 1345. An idol of Lord Mallinath (The 19th Tirthankar) is here installed in V. S. 1299. These idols are very beautiful & attractive made in black stone. Others temples are Shri Shantinath Temple, Shri Bahubali Temple, Shri Parsvanath Temple, Shri Chandraprabhu Temple, idol of Shri Sheetalnathji and Column of Dignity. These are also noticeable.

This is the area surrounded by hills in all directions, very beautiful, pleasant to eyes. Annual gathering on Agahan Krishna 2 to 5, In this gathering, Court of Bhure Baba is convened, where pilgrims come to fulfill their desires. There is a Jain Dharmshala contains 85 normal rooms and 8 Luxury Rooms, also having a mess, Jain Bhojanalay. Items like utensils, bed, tent etc. are available. To reach this place by road busses are available from Lalitpur, Talbehat, Jhansi, Bavina etc. Lalitpur, Talbehat, Jhansi are Nearby Railway Stations.
