Shri Janak Chandra Suri Ji Maharaj is one of the most respected Jain saint from the time ofShri Vijay Vallabh Suri Ii Maharaj. Shri Janak Chandra Ji took sainthood (diksha) at a very young age of 18. Just 11 months after his diksha, his diksha guru passed away. Thereafter he went to Punjab Kesri Shri Vijay Vallabh Suri Ji Maharaj for studying Jain shastras. Under the able guidance ofShri Vijay Vallabh Suri Ji, he did in-depth study of Sanskrit, Prakrit, Hindi, Gujarati, Jain darshan etc. He was inspired by the views ofShri Vijay Valliabh Suri Ji and entered the creative area of work with enthusiasm and dedication. After the demise of Shri Vijay Vallabh Suri Ji in Bombay, he took forward his mission of campaigning for education, improvement of society etc. He guided and directed Shri Aatmanand Jain Mahasabha Punjab and All India Jain Shwetambar conference.

The credit of organizing 'shivirs'(religious classes) in Punjab, Haryana and Himachal Pradesh for the first time goes to Shri Janak Chandra Suri Ji. His greatest achievement lies in campaigning against non-vegetarianism and drinking, in villages of Ambala district of Haryana. He travelled to around 600 small and big villages near Ambala campaigning and working for this cause in the face of numerous hardships and oppositions. He got many liquor vending points razed from many villages. He went to such villages where no Jain saint had ventured before. Toady, people of these villages regard him a as a great spiritual leader, social worker and reformer.

He had set up 'Haryana Gram Prayogik Sangh' based in Shehjadpur in District Ambala which is working and taking forward the mission of Shri Janak Chandra Ji. He was bestowed with the title of 'SarvDharam Samanvayi' by Shri Samudra Suri Ji Maharaj in Bombay. Shri Janak Chandra Ji is an excellent orator too. Under a multi faceted plan he set up a Jain temple complex and a hospital in Eder (Gujarat). To him goes the credit of setting up 'Sarvtobhadra Teerth' in Ostraan (Rajasthan). He dedicated both these establishments in the name of Shri Samudra Suri Ji Maharaj. At present Acharya Ji stays in Ostraan (Rajasthan) where he dedicates his time writing studying various subjects of religion, spiritualism etc.
