A Prayer for Peace For Iran and Israel - 16.06.2025

A Prayer  for Peace in Iran and Israel
"O Sons of the Same Dust"
O sons of the same ancient earth,
Why must we burn what gave us birth?
From Sinai’s hush to Persia’s flame,
The soul of man is still the same.
Your rivers differ, but blood is one,
Beneath one moon, beneath one sun.
In temples, churches, mosques you pray—
To God who weeps at war's dark play.
Why trade the olive for the sword?
Why break the plow to please a lord?
The cries of mothers pierce the skies—
No scripture blesses children’s cries.
O Israel, with heart so bold,
Bearer of stories deep and old,
Recall the prophets, seek their light—
Not vengeance robed in holy right.
O Iran, with soul of fire,
Poems of Rumi still inspire.
Let Hafiz sing, not missiles roar—
Let roses bloom, not blood on floor.
We are not enemies by fate,
But made such by a tale of hate.
Unmake that myth, let truth arise—
Peace is the bravest enterprise.
Come, build the bridges, not the wall,
For every rise, there is a fall.
But those who sow with hands of grace,
Shall find in peace a strong embrace.
Let children laugh, let fathers build,
Let lands be farmed, not graves be filled.
Let scholars meet, let merchants trade,
Let songs replace the cannonade.
O brothers distant, yet so near,
The world is tired of war and fear.
The future calls with quiet plea—
Choose not the chain, but unity.
And when your flags in peace arise,
You'll find your glory in no disguise.
For what is strength, if not to say:
“I choose to walk the peaceful way.”

"O Sons of the Same Dust"

O sons of the same ancient earth,

Why must we burn what gave us birth?

From Sinai’s hush to Persia’s flame,

The soul of man is still the same.

Your rivers differ, but blood is one,

Beneath one moon, beneath one sun.

In temples, churches, mosques you pray—

To God who weeps at war's dark play.

Why trade the olive for the sword?

Why break the plow to please a lord?

The cries of mothers pierce the skies—

No scripture blesses children’s cries.

O Israel, with heart so bold,

Bearer of stories deep and old,

Recall the prophets, seek their light—

Not vengeance robed in holy right.

O Iran, with soul of fire,

Poems of Rumi still inspire.

Let Hafiz sing, not missiles roar—

Let roses bloom, not blood on floor.

We are not enemies by fate,

But made such by a tale of hate.

Unmake that myth, let truth arise—

Peace is the bravest enterprise.

Come, build the bridges, not the wall,

For every rise, there is a fall.

But those who sow with hands of grace,

Shall find in peace a strong embrace.

Let children laugh, let fathers build,

Let lands be farmed, not graves be filled.

Let scholars meet, let merchants trade,

Let songs replace the cannonade.

O brothers distant, yet so near,

The world is tired of war and fear.

The future calls with quiet plea—

Choose not the chain, but unity.

And when your flags in peace arise,

You'll find your glory in no disguise.

For what is strength, if not to say:

“I choose to walk the peaceful way.”
