Vijay Samudra Suri Ji served his Gunl, Vijay Vallabh Suri Ji for around 40 years like a personal assistance besides studying the 'shastras' and 'Aagams' of Jainism under his able guidance. After taking over the reigns from Vijay Vallabh Suri Ji after his demise in Mumbai, he came to Agra in Vikram Samvat 2016 and conducted a meet of former students of Shri Atmanand Jain Gurukul, Punjab. Shri Samudra Suri Ji strongly advocated non-violence of all kinds - be it towards human beings or animals.
He stopped animal slaughtering at various places in Raikot, (Punjab), Hoshiarpur, Ambala and Ludhiana. When the orders of serving eggs in the government schools was passed in Punjab, he opposed it strongly and got the orders cancelled by influencing the then chief minister, Pratap Singh Kairon. At the time of IndoChina war he encouraged blood donation for the soldiers fighting the enemy at the borders of the country. At the time of Indo-Pak war also, he inspired the people of Ludhiana to contribute generously for the war stricken. Blankets, woollen clothes and food items were sent in large quantities for this purpose. In 1968, when Rajasthan was struck by drought, he set up Vijay Vallabh Relief Society through which food grains, clothes and fodder worth lakhs was disbursed to the drought stricken.
In the year 1974 he was invited to Delhi by the 'Akhil Bhartiya Bhagwan Mahavir 250dh Nirvaan Mahotsav Samiti'. Set up by the government, Shri Samudra Suri Ji was the only seer from the Shwetambar Moortipujak sect to be included in this Samiti as a member. In Delhi, he was given a historic welcome in the form of a 10 km long procession. He was also conferred the title of 'Jinn Shasan Ratna' at a grand function in Delhi where the then Information Broadcasting Minister L. K. Gujral, union minister Jagannath Paharia and the then Mayor of Delhi, Kedarnath Sahni were also present.
