Anuvrat

Acharya Shri Tulsi Muni
Founder of Anuvrat Movement

A Global Ethic Based on Basic or Small Vows

The Anuvrat Movement launched by Late His Holiness Acharya Tulsi in 1949 has since inspired millions of people to practice purity and self-discipline in personal life. The ultimate aim of the Movement is to create a nonviolent socio-political world order with the help of a world wide network of self-transformed people. H. H. Acharya Mahapragya, successor of Late H. H. Acharya Tulsi, is continuing the lofty tradition now. Under his dynamic leadership, the Anuvrat Movement fortified with two new dimensions in the form of Preksha Meditation and Jivan Vigyan (Science of Living) is slowly widening its base and attracting a large number of people towards it in all parts of the world.

It exhorts people to live the good life by committing themselves to the observance of the following eleven vows. The Movement is a network of morally awakened people who volunteer to lead a life-style rooted in ethical conduct conducive to environmental and ecological harmony. Anyone who accepts the following basic vows becomes the member of the Movement irrespective of his caste, creed, religion and nationality automatically:
