Claudia Pastorino

More than Music Composer A Jain Scholar

 

 

Born in Genoa, where she lives, Claudia Pastorino is an italian singer-composer. As of today, she has published five CDs:
"I Gatti Di Baudelaire", 1995;
"Inventare L'allegria", 1997;
"Trentanni", 1999;
"Un Sogno Di Mare", 2005 (in this CD she sings as an interpreter, accompanied by the Quartet of Celloists 'Cello Fans');
"Live & Let Live", 2006.

Claudia Pastorino is also a writer, her first book, "The centering of Tao", was published in 2000. Claudia dedicated herself to the learning of the Jainism Doctrine and she translated "Saman Suttam, the Basis of Jainism, the most ancient Doctrine of Non-violence" (published in Italy in 2001 by Mondadori, within the collection "Men and Religions"). In 2002 Claudia published "Jainism, the most ancient Doctrine of Nonviolence, Compassion and Ecology" by Edizioni Cosmopolis, this work contained the italian translation of "The Book of Compassion". In 2003 Claudia published her latest book on Jainism, "Essence of Jainism: History, Philosophy, Tales" by Editori Riuniti. Since 1983, Claudia volunteers as an activist for Animals Rights and Welfare, and she spreads Vegetarianism.
