Grand Congregation of Sthanakwasi Saints
The Executive Council members of the All
India Swetambar Sthanakwasi Jain Conference (North India) met at New Delhi on
the 23rd August, 2000 to discuss the preparations to made for the forth-coming
Brahad Sadhu sammelan (Grand Congregation) to be organised some time next year.
It was felt by the members that Delhi being the central place, where all saints
could reach and where necessary arrangements for their stay and Gochari could be
made, it should be the venue. Pravartak Shri Padam Chand ji Maharaj, also being
stationed here due to his failing health, this place would be ideal.
Further, it was decided to hold Chadar Ceremony for the Acharya Shri (Dr.) Shiv
Muni here on the same occasion. Acharya Shri has already given indication
to proceed towards North side via Udaipur after completion of Chaturmas
period and has shown his desire to meet and offer his respects to Muni Shri
Padam Chand Ji.
Restricted food for the Queen of England
It would be interesting to know that the
Queen Elizabeth has given strict instructions to her cooks not to use onions or

items in fact are not allowed to be brought into her kitchen. Further, she does
not want any such item in her menu which sticks in the teeth or whose small
seeds may get stuck in-
between the teeth or whose juice may fall on the clothes.
