Applications are invited from eligible candidates for admission to the following refresher courses:

1.  Prakrit Language & Literature (Elementary) With Manuscriptology        21.5.2006 - 11.6.2006

2.  Prakrit Language & Literature (Advanced)*                                           21.5.2006 - 11.6.2006

     *Subject to the availability of sufficient number of applications.

A Condensed course for introducing the science of Manuscriptology has been devised to make the training at the school much more useful for all the participants.

Eligible candidates can apply to participate in either one of the above courses, which will run concurrently.

Eligibility:

i)    High Second Class in M.A., Acharya or Shastri in A.I.H.C. & Archaeology / Sanskrit with Philosophy or Prakrit, Pali and A.I.H.C etc. group. Students applying for admission to the course must be able to read and write Devanagari script and must have a good working knowledge of both Hindi and English Languages. This should be clearly mentioned in the Application Form in the prescribed coloumn. Preference will be given to fresh M.A.'s and Research Scholars in the above subjects.

ii)   Photocopies of certificates / Degrees, should be enclosed with the application form.      

MEDIUM OF INSTRUCTION: Hindi / English mixed.

SCHEDULE OF LECTURES: Two sessions of three hours each from 9.30 A.M. to 6.00 P.M.

PERIODICAL TESTS: Topic-wise tests will be conducted by respective teachers after each 5 lectures   by the end of the week. Final tests, including viva-voce, will be held on last Friday and Saturday. However, any change in the schedule of tests without any prior notice, in case of any contingency, will be entirely at the discretion of the Institute.

Facilities offered:

a)   Free lodging and boarding for the duration of the course.

b)   Travel: IInd Class Railway Fare or Ordinary Bus Fare by the shortest route, subject to the production of relevant ticket number (s) / cash receipts. In case of local participants, a sum of
Rs. 400/- only will be provided for the entire course to meet their local expenses.

c)  No participant will remain - absent from his / her daily lectures, and weekly tests or final test etc; and must obtain a minimum of 45% marks in aggregate. Participants, who do not fulfill these conditions, will not be eligible to claim IInd class return railway or bus fare, from the Institute back to their native place.

d)   The Institute will not foot the medical bills of any participant, in case of such need.

Test Certificates: will be awarded to the participants on completion of the course and having passed all the oral and written tests.
