Shri Subhash Chandra Lalwani

Active social figure among Jains at New Jersey and New York, jeweler Shri Subhash Chandra Lalwani has a pleasing personality and habits. For reasons of his active participation in religious social and welfare activities, financial cooperation and amicable nature, he has earned a respectable position in the Jain community of USA.

He is the son of Shri C. L. Lalwani, a very enthusiastic social figure of Jaipur and belongs to a prosperous Oswal Jain family of village Gogola in District Nagaur in Rajasthan.

The ancestors of Shri Subhash Chandra Lalwani did business in Assam for over 60 years. They left that State during II World War. Shri Hastimal Lalwani, grandfather of Shri Subhash Chandra, was a staunch religious minded person and observed Jain Shravak Dharma with deep faith, Shri C. L. Lalwani has inherited the religious tradition of the family and has great faith in Jain saints.

Born at Jaipur on August 3, 1945. Enterprising Shri Lalwani entered in jewellery business at Jaipur in 1962 and travelled several times to European and Far East countries for promotion of jewellery exports.

Shri Lalwani provided active cooperation in organizing the First International Jain Conference at UN Plaza, Manhattan, New York in 1981. He has very much promoted the idea of having combined Get-togethers of Jains at New York and Jewellers of Jaipur at New York particularly at Deepawali every year.

His wife Smt. Saroj Lalwani, daughter of Shri Jhabar Chand Hirawat, jeweller of Jaipur, is active in social, cultural and religious activities.
